Frequently Asked Questions

Everything buyers ask before committing

Real questions from procurement, technical, and sustainability leads — answered with calibrated numbers.

What is the actual cost of IQDEMY single-pass digital printing, per square meter?
€0.51–€0.85 per m² depending on ink consumption (6–10 g/m², realistic average 8 g/m²). UV-LED curing energy adds ~€0.012/m², labor ~€0.14/m². Full economics available in the calculator above.
How much does energy consumption drop versus traditional roller coating?
By ~40% across the full line. The gas-fired paint curing oven is eliminated, but the primer oven remains — primer is still required under the inks. Real savings 40%, not 70% as sometimes claimed in marketing.
What does "50+ years color durability" mean, and how is it substantiated?
The warranty applies to IQDEMY's inorganic UV-LED solid inks with appropriate primer and substrate. Validated by ISO 16474 (Xenon arc) accelerated aging. Facade track record: 10+ years on installed projects.
How long does deployment take, from contract signing to first print?
12–14 months turnkey: equipment manufacturing, logistics, installation and commissioning. Operator training: 1–2 weeks. On-site installation: 4–5 people for one month.
Can the single-pass digital module retrofit into an existing coil coating line?
Retrofit is supported. The module integrates after the primer station and before the rewinder. Full line replacement not required. Line speed: up to 60 m/min in commercial configuration, theoretical max 240 m/min.
What is the ink consumption per square meter, and why is 8 g/m² more realistic than the 6 g/m² in brochures?
6 g/m² — minimum coverage for light patterns. 8 g/m² — realistic field-calibrated average for typical decorative patterns. 10 g/m² — heavy fill. The calculator recalculates print cost automatically.
What about dependency on a single ink supplier?
Ink pricing is fixed in long-term contracts (3–5 years). No chipped or proprietary cartridges — bulk containers only. Custom ink formulations on request. Vertical integration (printheads + DPS Innovations electronics + inks) eliminates compatibility risk.
How is service, spare parts, and downtime protection handled?
24/7 global service network and remote diagnostics included. Certified Training Program transfers competencies to in-house engineers. Optional on-site spare parts kit available.
How does IQDEMY differ from Barberán Jetmaster, Hymmen JPT-C and Cefla J-Print SP?
Swiss manufacturing, full vertical integration, CRYVK extended gamut (>1 billion colors vs 16M for CMYK), coil coating specialization via Otefal Group JV. Technical benchmarks available on request.
Does the technology comply with EU environmental directives and support LEED/BREEAM certification?
Yes. UV-LED inks fully VOC-free (Directive 2004/42/EC). Total line VOC reduction ~70%. CO₂ Scope 1 reduction ~40%. Supports LEED/BREEAM via Environmental Product Declaration.
